About the CD “Amor de Familia”

Severo has always wanted to record a CD since he was in high school. Due to the time it takes to record a CD and the cost, he resorted to wait until after his high school graduation. It was not until the summer of 2005, that he began to record his CD at Steve Chavez Recording Studio in Arroyo Seco, New Mexico. On this CD, all musical arrangements were done by Steve Chavez.

On this 10 track CD, Severo shows his love for New Mexico with upbeat Cumbias, Rancheras, Canciones de Amor and adds in his own vocal styles to every one of the songs on the CD. Taditional New Mexico Songs on this CD include: Volver, Volver, A Medias de La Noche, Las Mananitas, and Ojitos Verdes with a great accompaniment of trumpet my Bobby Madrid. Rancho Alegre is a Ranchera, which was recorded for his grandmother because their ranch in Chimayo is named “Rancho Alegre.” The Cumbia’s on this CD include: Baila Esta Cumbia and Negra Tomasa. Severo is sure to make you stomp your feet to the music and can guarantee that when you listen to this CD, you can not help but get up and dance.

On this CD, there are also three original songs that were written by Severo. The first is Amor de Familia which is the title of this CD. Severo comes from a small, but very tight knit family that has supported him in all his ventures in life. This song exemplifies the love he has for his family and he feels that all people can relate to this song because your family will always be there for you no matter what. The One In My Life, a song inspired by a lost love and retuning to that person, is another song written by Severo. El Amor de Tu Vida is this song translated into Spanish, with a dynamic flare to it. Severo and Record Producer spent several hours perfecting these songs and he thanks Steve for helping him make all his original songs hits.

This CD shows Severo’s musical talent and is a great for all people who enjoy listening to good New Mexico Music.
